Ordering & payment
How do I place an order?
Add your pieces to the bag and follow the checkout steps. You will receive a confirmation by email once your order is placed.
Do I need an account to order?
No. You can check out as a guest. An account only saves your addresses and lets you see your past orders.
Which payment methods can I use?
We accept major debit and credit cards, along with the express wallet options shown at checkout. The full list appears on the payment step, based on where you are shopping from.
Which currency will I be charged in?
All prices are shown and charged in euro. There is no currency conversion at checkout, so the amount you see is the amount you pay.
Is VAT included in the price?
Yes. Prices include VAT at the rate of your delivery country, so nothing is added at checkout. Madeira and the Azores have their own lower rates, which are applied automatically.
Will I receive an invoice?
Your order confirmation doubles as your receipt. If you need a separate invoice, or one addressed to a company with a VAT number, write to us at hello@wearstilo.com and we will send it.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Write to us as soon as possible. We can usually adjust or cancel an order before it leaves our atelier, within one to two business days of ordering. After that, you can still return it.
I have not received my order confirmation. What should I do?
Check your spam folder first, as automatic emails sometimes land there. If it is not there after an hour, write to us with the name and email you used and we will look it up.
Do you offer gift wrapping?
Each order arrives in simple, recyclable packaging that suits a gift as it is. If you would like a short handwritten note included, mention it in the order notes at checkout.
Shipping & delivery
Which countries do you ship to?
We ship to twelve countries in the European Union: Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Portugal and Spain. We are working on adding more.
How much does shipping cost?
Standard shipping is 6,90 euro to every country we deliver to. Orders over 150 euro are delivered at no charge. The rate is confirmed at checkout before you pay.
How long will delivery take?
Orders leave our atelier within one to two business days. After that it depends on the destination — see delivery by country below.
Who delivers my order?
Orders are dispatched from Lisbon. CTT Expresso carries them within Portugal, and DPD or GLS across the rest of the European Union.
Can I have my order delivered to a pickup point or parcel locker?
Yes, where our carrier offers it in your country. Pickup point options appear at checkout after you enter your address.
What happens if I am not at home?
The carrier will leave a card and try again, or hold your parcel at a nearby pickup point. The tracking link tells you which, and lets you rearrange the delivery.
I entered the wrong address. Can it be changed?
If your order has not shipped yet, write to us and we will correct it. Once it is with the carrier we can usually still redirect it, but not always, so tell us as soon as you notice.
How do I track my order?
A tracking link is sent by email as soon as your order ships. Tracking can take a few hours to show its first update.
Will I pay customs duties or import charges?
No. We dispatch from Portugal and deliver only within the European Union, so your order stays inside the EU customs union. There are no duties, import VAT or handling fees on delivery.
Do you ship to Madeira and the Azores?
Yes, at the same rate as mainland Portugal. Delivery takes a little longer, usually four to seven business days, and the local VAT rate applies.
My order has not arrived. What should I do?
Check the tracking link first. If it has not moved for three business days, or the estimated date has passed, write to us at hello@wearstilo.com with your order number and we will chase it with the carrier.
How do you pack orders?
In recyclable paper and card, with no plastic film and no excess. Enough to protect your pieces on the way to you, and nothing more.
Delivery by country
Estimated transit time after your order leaves Lisbon. Add one to two business days for us to prepare it.
| Destination | After dispatch |
|---|---|
| Portugal (mainland) | 1–2 business days |
| Spain | 2–3 business days |
| France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg | 3–4 business days |
| Germany, Austria, Italy | 3–5 business days |
| Ireland, Finland, Greece | 4–7 business days |
| Madeira, Azores | 4–7 business days |
These are carrier estimates and can shift slightly around public holidays and in the weeks before Christmas.
Returns & exchanges
What is your return policy?
You have fourteen days from delivery to return an unworn piece with its tags attached, for any reason. Full steps are on our returns page.
How do I start a return?
Write to us at hello@wearstilo.com or through our contact page with your order number and which pieces you are sending back. We will reply with the return address and the steps.
Who pays for return shipping?
You arrange and pay for return shipping on a change of mind. If a piece arrived faulty, damaged or was not what you ordered, we cover the return in full and put it right.
When will I receive my refund?
Once your return reaches us and has been checked, we refund the original payment method. In practice this takes five to ten business days, and never more than fourteen days from when we receive the parcel.
Will you refund the original shipping cost too?
Yes. If you withdraw from the whole order within fourteen days, we refund what you paid for standard delivery as well as the pieces. If you chose a more expensive option, we refund the standard rate.
Can I exchange for another size or colour?
Yes, subject to availability. Tell us when you start your return and we will hold the piece for you where we can. If it has sold out we refund you instead.
Can I return a sale item?
Yes. Pieces bought at a reduced price can be returned on the same terms as everything else.
Are there items you cannot accept?
For hygiene reasons, pierced earrings cannot be returned once the sealed packaging is opened. Everything else can come back to us unworn, with its tags on.
My piece arrived damaged or is not what I ordered.
Send us a photo at hello@wearstilo.com with your order number. We will replace it or refund you, including all shipping both ways, and you do not need to pay anything.
Your rights
What is the legal right of withdrawal?
As a consumer buying online in the European Union, you have fourteen days from receiving your order to withdraw from it without giving a reason. Our returns policy follows this right, and nothing on this site limits it.
How long is the legal guarantee on my purchase?
Because we sell from Portugal, Portuguese law applies and new garments and accessories carry a three-year legal guarantee against faults, which is longer than the two years required across the European Union.
What if a piece develops a fault after a few months?
That is what the legal guarantee is for. Write to us at hello@wearstilo.com with your order number and a photo. If a piece has failed rather than simply worn out, we repair it, replace it, or refund you.
What if we cannot resolve a complaint?
Write to us first and we will try to settle it directly. If we cannot, you may refer the matter to a Portuguese consumer arbitration centre, as Portuguese consumer law entitles you to do, or to the consumer authority in your own country.
Sizing & fit
How do your sizes run?
Our cuts are relaxed and made to sit softly rather than close to the body. Most pieces are true to size, and each product page says so plainly where a piece runs large or small.
Where do I find measurements?
Every garment page has a Size and fit panel with garment measurements in centimetres, taken flat. Fabric, care and origin are listed just above it under Product details.
What if I am between sizes?
For a closer fit, take the smaller size. For an easy, layered look, take the larger one. Each product page carries a fit note telling you which way that particular piece leans.
Do you list EU, UK and US sizes?
We use letter sizes from XS to XL for tops, dresses and knitwear, and waist sizes from 28 to 36 for trousers. Rather than convert between national systems, compare our centimetre measurements with a piece you already own — it is the surest way.
How tall are your models and what size do they wear?
Each garment page lists the height of the model in the photographs and the size they are wearing, under Product details.
Do men's and women's pieces use the same sizing?
No. They share the same letter labels but are cut to different measurements, so check the Size and fit panel on the piece itself.
How do scarves, bags and jewellery fit?
Accessories come in one size. Dimensions in centimetres are on each product page, so you can picture the scale before you order.
Materials & care
What materials do you use?
Linen, organic cotton, merino and wool blends, Tencel and viscose, chosen to last and to age well. The exact composition of every piece is listed on its product page.
How should I care for my pieces?
Care instructions are on every product page and on the garment label. As a rule, cooler washes and natural drying keep our fabrics at their best and use far less energy.
Will my pieces shrink?
Natural fibres may relax or shrink slightly, up to around three percent, after the first wash. We allow for this when we cut, and it is part of how they settle.
Why does my linen crease so easily?
Because it is linen. Creasing is how the fibre behaves, not a fault, and it softens with every wash. If you prefer it smoother, iron while still damp.
Will knitwear pill?
Merino and wool blends can pill a little where they rub, most often in the first season. Lift the pills off gently with a comb or a knitwear stone and the surface settles down.
Can I dry clean instead?
You can, but you rarely need to. Almost everything we make is washable at thirty degrees, and airing wool between wears does more for it than cleaning.
Can you repair a piece for me?
Tell us what has happened at hello@wearstilo.com. Where a repair is possible, we would far rather mend a piece than see it replaced, and we will tell you honestly what it involves.
Made in Lisbon
Where are your pieces made?
Stilo is designed in Lisbon and sewn in our own small atelier in Alcântara, a short walk from where the pieces are drawn.
Where do your fabrics come from?
Mainly from northern Portugal, in and around the Vale do Ave, where linen and cotton have been woven for generations. Keeping the mills close means we can visit them.
What does slow fashion mean for Stilo?
We release a few considered collections each year rather than chasing trends. Fewer pieces, made in small runs, so each one is worth keeping.
What happens to pieces you do not sell?
They stay on the site at a reduced price until they find someone. We do not destroy unsold stock, and because we cut in small runs there is not much of it.
Account & privacy
Is checkout secure?
Yes. Payments are handled by our payment provider over an encrypted connection, and we never see or store your full card details.
How do I unsubscribe from your emails?
Use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email from us. It takes effect immediately, and you can still order without being subscribed.
Can I ask you to delete my data?
Yes. Write to us at hello@wearstilo.com and we will delete what we hold, except records we are required to keep for accounting. Our privacy policy explains this in full.
